30th Overberg Agri Roodebloem Farmers Day – 23 September 2026
The 30th Overberg Agri Roodebloem Farmers Day will take place on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, marking an important milestone in the history of this much-loved agricultural event for our Overberg Agri producers and invited partners.
For three decades, Roodebloem Farmers Day has provided a valuable opportunity for our producers to come together with agricultural specialists and industry partners to share knowledge, explore developments in agriculture and connect with one another in the field.
In 2026, we look forward to welcoming our producers and invited partners as we celebrate the 30th Roodebloem Farmers Day with a full programme combining practical agricultural insights, crop and machinery demonstrations, industry expertise and, of course, the Roodebloem hospitality that has become an integral part of the day.
A Full Day of Agriculture, Knowledge and Conversation
The day starts at 08:15 with registration and breakfast, followed by the official opening, Scripture reading and prayer at 09:15.
From 09:30, the focus moves into the field with crop demonstrations and farming practices, giving our producers the opportunity to engage with practical applications and developments relevant to their farming operations.
Following lunch at 12:30, the afternoon programme continues at 13:30 with machinery demonstrations focusing on the complete production chain – from planting to harvesting.
Panel Discussion: The Producer’s Journey – Changes, Challenges & Lessons
At 15:00, the focus turns to the people at the heart of agriculture with a special panel discussion, “The Producer’s Journey – Changes, Challenges & Lessons”.
Facilitated by Theo Vorster, the discussion brings together five producers – Jan Viljoen, Tienie Theunissen, Johan Swart, Philip Morkel and Francois Uys – to share perspectives and experiences from their own journeys in agriculture.
The conversation will reflect on how farming has changed, the challenges producers have had to navigate and the lessons learned along the way. It offers an opportunity to hear directly from producers about the realities of farming and the experience gained through changing seasons and an evolving agricultural environment.
Keynote Speaker: Theo Vorster
At 16:00, Theo Vorster will return to the stage to present the keynote address.
Theo is the Chief Executive Officer of Galileo Capital and is widely respected for his ability to make complex economic, financial and political developments relevant and understandable. He regularly contributes as an economic and market analyst across national television, radio and business platforms.
His practical approach and deep understanding of the South African economic and business landscape make his insights particularly relevant to producers navigating an increasingly complex operating environment.
The formal programme concludes at 17:00, followed by dinner and an opportunity to socialise from 17:30 – a fitting end to a day centred around agriculture, knowledge and the relationships that have made Roodebloem Farmers Day what it is today.

The 2026 event marks 30 Roodebloem Farmers Days and three decades of bringing our producers and agricultural partners together around knowledge, innovation, practical experience and relationships.
Over the years, the day has continued to evolve alongside agriculture itself, while remaining true to what has always been at its heart: creating an opportunity for our producers to come together, learn, share experiences and strengthen relationships within the agricultural community.
